2022 Syrah

The 2022 vintage, similar to the 2021 vintage showed cool temperatures, with some periodic rain events leading to a later harvest, providing extended ripening time to develop concentrated fruit characters, colour and ripe tannin. Our 2022 Syrah reflects a cool climate, lighter framed style influenced by our Byrne Farm style of blending Pinot Nior (14%) and Shiraz (86%).

This Byrne Farm blend is a bit of homage to my 20 years working in the Hunter Valley as Shiraz / Pinot Noir is a famous local blend there and presents an easy drinking style. This wine shows loads of red fruits, floral perfume, a hint of reduction and a powerful long finish.
